Are The Accusations True?

5 04 2010

“What accusations?” you might ask.  Well, I’m glad you did.  Today is day #64 in the 90 day challenge, and I find myself in the book of Daniel as we are FLYING through the Bible in 90 days.  I come across Daniel chapter 6.  In this chapter Daniel was placed over the entire empire by King Darius.  The other administrators and officers disliked Daniel and began searching for some fault in any way Daniel lived or handled the government affairs, but they couldn’t find ANYTHING to criticize or condemn him. In fact, it records that they found he was faithful, ALWAYS responsible, and COMPLETELY trustworthy.

Then I read Daniel 6:5 which says:  So they (the officers) concluded, “Our only chance of finding grounds for accusing Daniel will be in connection with the rules of his religion.”

So my question is, could that same accusation be made of me?  If someone were looking for “some fault” what would they find?  I’m not sure there could be a GREATER compliment to my life than “the only grounds for accusing Jeff will be in connection to his devotion to his God.”  That’s essentially what they were saying of Daniel.  I was completely challenged in reading that.  Is my life SO DEVOTED to God that THAT would be the only accusation which could be made?  WOW!  Are the accusations true?  I pray they CAN be in me.  That SHOULD be our goal.

Accused (and hope to be guilty),

Jeff
