Quick Thoughts

15 12 2008

Hey everyone!  I didn’t get a Rumination up this week because we were on the road to Oklahoma for Sabrina’s grandmothers funeral.  Here are some quick thoughts on yesterday and today.

— 514 yesterday  So funny how perspectice changes when you’re in a different place.  Having the extra room made it feel way down but I’m still adjusting to being away from the theater.

— The band did the best version of Joy To The World I think I’ve ever heard.  Such a cool version.

— I’m SUPER excited about Rockin’ Around The Tree.

— GREAT service yesterday.  The message on hurt, pain, injury especially in relation to family really brought out some deep issues.  We had a very cool commitment time at the end of the service.

— I shared from 2 Samuel and David’s treatment of Mephibosheth.  I challenged people at the end of the service to “release” those who had hurt them by writing their name down and placing it in a bowl on one of three tables in the front of the worship center.  I also challenged us to “relase” those things that make us feel unworthy to eat at the King’s Table.  David invited Mephibosheth, who was lame, crippled and unfit for the King’s table, to eat there anyway.  God does the same for us.

— It was -34 degrees windchill before first service started.  Yes, that is a MINUS.  I told the church that 40 of the 50 states would have canceled church, BUT NOT IN WYOMING!

—  We got here in OK at 12:30 AM local time (Central).  Made for one tired family today.

— We got to spend some great time with family today.  Ate at my FAVORITE sub shop of all time, Uptown Subs.  Did some driving around and reminiscing at Sabrina’s old house, my old house, our old school’s, churches, jobs.  It was fun.

— Get your Rockin’ Around The Tree tickets at the office or at church on Sunday.

— Click HERE to go vote for your favorite songs of the past year as we’ll be having fun on December 28th singing the set list that YOU CHOOSE.  We’ll also celebrate what God has done this past year at Element Church and look forward to what He is going to do.

— Got lots on my blog list I’d like to get down.  I’ll get on that when I get back.

Following Christ,

Jeff
