Hey Element Church! A great day at church today. Here are my ruminations on the happenings.
— 410 in church today. We’ve been consistently at that # all summer. Anxious to see what happens in the Fall and moving into the new location.
— Spoke on money today. Never easy. It wasn’t a tithing/giving message more than a message about how we manage and view our money/possessions. I firmly believe until God has our wallet he doesn’t fully have our heart.
— I’ve made some MAJOR money mistakes in my life and my wife and I have definitely made some in our marriage. We are a work in progress and trying to experience God’s best for us in this.
— This subject always challenges me. Talked a lot about contentment today. That is a convicting one in my life.
— Had a good group of first time guests today again. We have had a LOT of guests this summer. And not out of town ones.
— The band kicked off the service with “Money” from Pink Floyd. That is a TOUGH song to sing and play and they did a great job.
— We’ve had fun doing the rock songs to kick off each service. Next week’s song is a classic.
— The worship set today was perfect. I thought Adam’s song selection couldn’t have fit better. We sang the Cruz original “Let Your Kingdom Come” again today. Such a good song written specifically for last weeks message and our series.
— Had a noon movie today in our worship theater. To say we are frustrated is a massive understatement. I didn’t know about it until after 2nd service was done. Grant knew but didn’t tell me. I thanked him later for not telling me. It would have affected my message I think.
— Grant said it was pretty crazy today. Let me tell you. My team does an UNBELIEVABLE job! They make sure this thing goes round and do it so well that I don’t have to worry about it. Thanks team!
— Our volunteer team absolutely rocks it. The tear down crew has been amazing lately. We our out super quick today. I haven’t pulled the trailer or been in set up for three weeks and I think they are doing better without me. GREAT JOB VOLUNTEERS!
— Gas buy down is in 2 weeks. Get signed up via email or at church if you want to participate.
— We’re moving our offices and our youth ministry this week. We’ll no longer have our offices at 1011 E. Lincolnway but will be moving to our new location at 600 E. Carlson. Our offices will be in the old furniture store out there.
— Not sure on the work schedule at the new location yet. We’ll nail something down this week and let everyone know. If you’re not on the building crew email list please email us to get on that list.
— My wife is on a business trip this weekend with her home based business. That left me with the mayhem for the weekend. I brought all 4 kids to church by myself for the first time I can remember. I’ve always been at church hours before my wife. The kids were great AND I got to dress my girls in whatever I wanted. Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show our colors. BOOMER SOONER! 
— I think that’s it. If I think if anything else I’ll add an addition.
