Hey Element Church! Where do I begin? Lots of news to update here. And my how things are going to change quickly. Ok, here are the happenings around the new location.
#1 We’re moving our offices and Fusion out to the new location on Monday. WHAT? Yeah, same feeling here. Last week the owners called and said they have some unused, finished space we could move into until our buildout is done. Said they’d work us out a deal. Turns out the furniture store closed down next door to us and another large 5,000 square foot finished area with bathrooms is empty too. They offered either one to use. We immediately wanted both spaces so we could move Fusion out there and give them their own space. We asked, they gave us a price, we said no. We gave them the amount we felt comfortable paying (basically what we are paying now for our office space) AND THEY TOOK IT! SO, on Monday we are moving all of our offices out to 600 Carlson. Anyone who would like to help can join us at our current office at 9 AM.
#2 We met with our contractor last night at our new location. He is excited, as we all are, to get started. He asked if we could come out again tonight with 4 – 5 guys who could be some “team leaders”, basically people he can show what needs to be done so they can show other volunteers what to do. We have 5 guys coming out tonight to meet with our contractor. All our supplies are being delivered at 4 PM today. Last night we started setting up chairs to see what it would look like. OH MAN did it get me excited. I thought I had some pictures but I must of lost them.
#3 Saturday will be our first work day. I believe Terri is sending out an email to everyone on the list. We are going to start putting up studs for the walls. CRAZY. We will be starting at 9 AM and you are free to stay as long or short as you want. We do want to get all the windows and front of the building cleaned up too. For the walls you’ll need some sort of skill with tools. (That means I’ll be very limited) We’ll need some razors or something too to get all the stickers off the windows. Anyway, that is the latest update. So, next week we’ll be on site at 600 E Carlson for offices AND youth. Worship team practice will be there as well. Exciting stuff.
