Hey Elementers! Today was a great day at Element Church. Here are my ruminations on the day.
— Kicked off the Rock Band series today with a few Elementers playing the Rock Band video game on stage. Morgan, Jeremiah, Nate and Leigh. The guys busted out Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive.
— Through this series we’re talking about Livin’ Loud. How can I avoid being a one hit wonder? Having a life that lasts and stands out. Today we talked about commitment and I spoke from Matthew 16 when Jesus told his disciples “If you want to be my followers you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross and follow me”.
— Today was one of those messages where I said “Are you sure you want me to say that God?” Came pretty heavy today. Even apologized to the first time guests. Really felt challenged to challenge the status quo today.
— 436 in church today. 2nd service was wall to wall packed. Front row was even full in second service.
— 13 FTG cards filled out today. For summer that is a great number.
— We’ll be talking at Lead Team tomorrow of some possible solutions as we approach fall for space issues. If you’re an Elementer and can attend first service, that is still the biggest opportunity to fill in some space.
— Great to have Adam back today. We are blessed with an amazing worship team and we are blessed to have Adam leading us. I know I say this all the time, but it is indescribable how comforting it is to have a worship pastor you trust. The band really sounded good today.
— Anyone out there who is thinking about planting a church, choose you’re worship pastor wisely!
— Let It Burn (Adam Cruz original) is fast becoming one of my favorites. That song for communion today was perfect.
— Took communion today. That for me is always a special time.
— Very special today as we commissioned Grant into full time ministry. Now we just gotta figure out how to keep him from showing up at the office at 4 AM. “Grant, we don’t have any chips to stock!” When we show up for work, Grants been working for 4 – 5 hours already. That my friends is CRAZY!
— Grant, Adam, Curtis and Andy, I can’t tell you how much you guys mean to me.
— AC was totally fixed today. We figured it out and it felt GREAT!
— The volunteers today rocked it again! Jerry, THANK YOU for taking over the trailer responsibility. Can’t tell you how much that means and helps me!
— Gas Buydown is coming up on August 30th. Sign up at church to volunteer.
— Don’t forget to check out the volunteer brochures as well for your opportunity to serve at Element.
— This Sunday we’re looking at prayer. I’m excited about this message. Prayer is the life line between us and God. It is the power source for us. Any wonder why so many Christians struggle with it?
— No new news on the building. Believe me, I want some as much as you do! The blog will be the first place to find any news.
— Alright, I think that’s it. 2 more days and I have my family back.
Following Christ,
Jeff
