Hey Element Church! Another great day today. But what would Sunday at Element Church be without a few mishaps. Here are my ruminations on the day.
— 5 people acknowledged that they received Jesus Christ today. PTL! It was exciting to see people make that decision. Never gets old.
— 403 in attendance today. Good to be over 400 again.
— It was GREAT to be in the pulpit again at Element. I love what I get to do and miss it MUCH when it’s gone. Today I preached my One Prayer for the church “Lord, make us alive!” One of my passions is to see people living life to its fullest. I think there is SO MUCH more life out there than most Christians live in.
— First service energy was OFF THE HOOK! WOW, that place was rockin’
— The band kicked off the service with a Jonah 33 song called “Dying To Live”. It fit perfectly and set the tone for the day.
— Adam wrote an addition to the song “God Of This City” and it was awesome. He wrote it specifically to fit my message. Can’t tell you how awesome it is to have that kind of talent on the team.
— We may as well have fried some eggs on the platform today it was so stinkin’ hot. I’m not sure what the deal is with the AC but we moved EVERYTHING to a new theater, and now that AC doesn’t seem to work. We’re gonna do some diggin’ this week to see if we can figure it out.
— We talked to the theater on Wednesday about this weekends movie times. We were ASSURED that there would be no noon movie in our theater. Well, there was some miscommunication and the theater employees didn’t get the memo. Thus, we had about 30 people watching us tear down with soda and popcorn in hand, waiting for the noon showing of Batman to start. The theater eventually came in and told all the viewers that they were moving to a new theater.
— Speaking of Batman…AMAZING! Saw it Friday night. Heath Ledger was masterful as the joker. VERY good.
— We still haven’t got our system nailed for set up and tear down. Being in the new theater has really throw us off. We had a PERFECT system in the other theater. Need to get one figured out PRONTO in this one. It’s frustrating cause we moved theater to get AC and now it’s just as hot. CRAZY!
— Had one new volunteer running lights today. He was a life saver in set up and he did a great job. Thanks for stepping up Phillip.
— I’m going to the Rascall Flatts concert tonight and serving as an usher. Most country I can’t stand to listen to, these guys are solid.
— That’s about it for now. Thanks Elementers for being a part for what we do! You guys ROCK!
