Hey Element Church! WiBo speaker #7 was Perry Noble from NewSpring Church in South Carolina. Holy Smokes…dude can bring it. Perry’s church is 8 years old(?) and runs about 8,000 people. He ain’t afraid to say anything nor is he afraid of anyone. He has MANY haters in the church realm. Anyway, he did a PHENOMENAL job speaking to the pastors their about their calling.
His Scripture was Mark 13:13-19 I liked him cause I would have probably done the same thing. Three point sermon. CLASSIC preacher.
1. We’re Called Mark 3:13
To the pastor “I don’t think you volunteer for this…if you do you’re stupid.” classic
2. Understand Priorities Mark 3:14
A. Be with Him
“The very first calling on our lives as pastors is that we might be with Jesus” That is the VERY FIRST calling on ALL our lives.
“If ministry overtakes your personal time with God you have forsaken the calling for expectations.” WOW!
“We have way too much imitation and not enough revelation in our churches.” Trying to be the next Willow or Saddleback or NewSpring.
B. Go preach Mark 3:14
“About Jesus!”
I LOVED this quote about being “green”. “God’s not green kermit is. You can do all you can to save the planet, while the people on it go to hell.” Holy SMOKES! He then said “We recycle at NewSpring…” but you’ll never hear me preach a message about being green over JESUS!
C. Have authority Mark 3:15
Too many pastors not standing in the authority of Christ. Submitting to agendas, politics, committees, etc. Don’t have any quotes but that is the gist.
3. The temptation Mark 3:16-19 Listed all the disciples then “Judas who betrayed him”. Talked of the recent major moral failings of pastors recently. The danger in that.
He flat out preached in this session. I don’t have many quotes cause I was literally being BLASTED! I LOVE being challenged, and this was challenging. Some of the things he said I didn’t write down cause, quite honestly, they wouldn’t be taken very well by people. LOL I’ll leave them in the setting he gave them. OUTSTANDING session.
